Untitled Sermon

Acts 2
We come to many crossroads in our lives.  There are many times you have to defend your church.  Why you go there.  Why you worship the way you do.  We’re all striving for the same place but because of our worship, some folks turn up their noses.  I’m so glad I’m part of a church that still feels the Holy Ghost.  The way the Holy Ghost operated then is the way He operates now.  He is still doing the same thing.  He’s no less today than He was in the beginning.  He’s still as real today as He was in the Upper Room.  Sometimes people can’t stand it where the REAL power of God is.  If you can’t feel Him working in you search yourself.  See what’s hindering the Holy Ghost from moving in your life.  Sometimes He moves in a mighty way and sometimes it’s a still small voice.
(Sermon Notes - Rev. Joey Burns - Preached 1/30/08)

There are certain people who are not meant to fit in your life, no matter how much you want them to.

Turn The Page

How are we living our lives everyday?  Do we have faith?  Boldness?  Courage?  Stop re-playing events.  Stop letting past mistakes and failures get us down.  We have more to do until we make it to Heaven.  Yesterday is gone.  We can’t go back.  How do you keep on living the way God wants you to live?  You must be determined.  There’s a reason for our existence.  We’re not here just to take up space.
Acts 8
I can’t imagine anything worse than someone who is far from God.  The devil don’t have control of the people of God.
Acts 9:20
Notice in Acts 9 how Paul went from persecuting to being filled with the Holy Ghost.  Acts 13 - he didn’t stop!  Acts 14 - he continued!  It’s not about fame or popularity.  Don’t stop or be hindered by your past.  God has always got more.  God will never stop.  He will increase knowledge and Spiritual gifts.
(Sermon Notes - Rev. Brad Stevens - Preached 1/27/08)

There's power in looking silly and not caring that you do.

While We Wait

Luke 18:1-8

What do we do while we’re waiting?  It’s important to always pray and never give up.  My God is faithful and He will always come through.  It’s worth it today to press through and get to Jesus.  Sometimes you have to just wait on God.

Psalm 25:3
Psalm 25:5
Psalm 27:14
Psalm 37:7-9
Psalm 37:34
Psalm 59:9
Psalm 62:5
Psalm 69:3
Psalm 104:27
Isaiah 40:29-31

He’s an ontime God!  If we wait on God, He will surely exalt us.  There’s nothing in this world worth turning our back on God.  In due season, we’ll reap if we faint not.  Many times we become blinded by the ways of the world.  If you have too - put blinders on.  He will give power to those who are weak.  If we wait on the Lord we will grow in the Lord.  I’ll wait until my change comes.

friendship means understanding, not agreement. it means forgiveness, not forgetting. it means the memories last, even if contact is lost

Everything, good or bad, has a purpose.

Untitled Sermon

We don’t have the privilege to know how things will end, but we must have faith and trust in God.  It will come to a good end.  All of the evil things the enemy tries to bring to pass, God will turn them around and bless!  God will help!  God will provide!  God will touch!  If He wakes you everyday He will give you what you need for that day.  Live every day knowing God will supply your every need.  There’s not a day that passes in our lives that we do not experience God’s blessings.  It is important who you associate yourself with.  Don’t ever think that the things going on in your life are happening by accident.  God has a plan and a pathway.

Psalm 1

Think about what you say and what you do.
(Sermon Notes - Rev. Joey Burns)

My biggest fear is that I will become too comfortable with the idea of being lonely for the rest of my life.

Tell me you'll never forget me, because if I thought you would, I would never leave.

What The Family Needs

Hebrews 10:19-25
One of the greatest things a family needs is to return to the House of God.  The most important time of our lives is when we worship.  Impart a heritage of worship.  When your family is in crisis you still have purpose.  God still has a covenant and there is still hope.  One of the greatest things we need as individuals and families is to go up to the House of God and worship.  If you are able to go get up and go.  Schechem - shoulder of strength.  Families need the altar at Schechem.
Genesis 12 - Abraham built the first altar unto the Lord.
Why don’t I have the blessing of God like others?  Your priorities aren’t straight.  I’m so glad that there’s a true real God to serve today.  God’s a shoulder you can lean on.  Right where you left Him is where you’ll find Him.
Genesis 12:6-7
Genesis 34&35
Bethel - House of God.  The whole family needs to go to Bethel.  Find a church and get in it.
