The Overflow Blessing

John 7:37-39
Leviticus 23:34-36

There is a place where we can receive the blessing of overflow in our life.  Don’t go through the motions.  You’ll fall out of your blessings.  You may slowly lose your joy.  It takes having a burning desire and passion to serve the Lord.  Only when we are filled and our cup is running over will we be able to touch lives.  Find the window of worship and enter through.  Rediscover the Lord.  I want what I say to come from the Holy Spirit.
(Sermon Notes - Rev. Joey Burns - Preached 12/30/07)

Sometimes we must get hurt in order to grow; we must fail in order to know. Sometimes our vision clears only after our eyes are washed away with tears.

It's amazing, some people, they just say these small little things, one sentence and it changed the way you feel about them in an instant. Small little words that can hurt you so much or make you fall deeply in love forever. It changes everything, nothing between you is ever really the same again, even if they don't know it, it still happens.

Children Of Promise

Genesis 12:2-3

God’s promises are like the stars.  The darker the night, the greater they shine.  Every promise God has made in the Word shall come to pass.  We live in a covenant relationship with God.  We are joint heirs of Jesus Christ.  We need to continue to patiently wait on God.

Isaiah 40:31

God said it.  I believe it.  That settles it.

Genesis 26:2-3

We are blessed today because of who we are- the children of promise.  If you need to hear from God - go to the altar.  I want to know that I’m a child of God and that my sins are under the blood.  Don’t ever take lightly the blessings of God.  God knows what we are capable of doing and will equip us.  This world will NOT hinder us!

The best thing about a picture is that it never changes, even when the people in it do.

There are people who take the heart out of you, and those who put it back in.

I didn't choose the thug life..the thug life chose me...

You never know when you're making a memory.

That was how you knew love. My mother had told me that. All you had to do was imagine your life without the other person, and if the thought alone made you shiver, then you knew.

Will We Be Sleeping?

Mark 14:32-42

It’s time we recognize what’s going on around us.  Sleep - naturally, regularly occurring rest with little or no conscience thought.  The most important place we can come is to the house of God.  Spiritually we can never afford to take a rest.  We’ve got to wake up!  When you hear the word of God do you even respond?
(Sermon Notes - Rev. Brad Stevens)

Hebrews 12:1-3
My confidence and hope are not in the things of this world but in Jesus.  We have two choices:
    1. Face your future with fear.
        OR
    2. Face your future with hope.
Jeremiah 29:11
Look at your future with eyes of faith and see what Jesus sees.  What do you see for
    Yourself?
    Your family?
    Your church?
I see GREAT things from Jesus!!  Faith can see the finished product.
Joel 2:28

Endure - to actively be persistent toward your goal.
“Know if you’ll endure, I’ll see you through.” (Message from Holy Ghost during service.)

Never compromise yourself. You are all you've got.

Just because you refuse to acknowledge something, refuse to look at it or think about it, doesn’t mean it’s not there, that it doesn’t affect you and the choices you make in your life.

You don't realize how strong a person really is until you see them at their weakest moment.

I have no notion of loving people by halves, it is not my nature. My attachments are always excessively strong.

The Stone Of Help

1 Samuel 7:7-12

The Lord is a stone of help in our lives.  They would set up stones as memorials so as not to forget the good things God did.  Set up stones in your life.  Don’t forget what God has done for you.  If God brought you through it, it’s worth remembering.  God’s hand is always on His people.

Joshua 4

You don’t have to be afraid.  He will be with you.

You've Got Somewhere To Run

2 Kings 4:8-10

God wants us to live with joy!  Prepare a place for God to stay - in your heart.  When He knocks, willingly open the door.  It is well.  There is peace in my despair knowing God will hear my prayer.  Sometimes in our lives there are people who try to push us away from the plan of God.  But, we must push on.  When we are in trouble and don’t know what to do, Jesus won’t leave us hanging.  He sees us when we are in deep distress.  Even when we can’t speak, He knows our heart.  But, we must give Him a dwelling place.  If you try to do things on your own you are going to make a mess of it.  The best thing we can do with our lives sometimes is to leave things alone.  Oh, what peace we often forfeit because we won’t take it to God.  Having a meltdown?  Melt right down on your knees.  Because of the price Jesus paid on Calvary we can go boldly to the throne of Grace.  Realize God is there for us.  All we have to do is approach the throne.  Always dwell where Jesus is.

Hebrews 4:14
