Complaining

Why do people complain?
We complain when things don't go our way and we don't get what we want.

Numbers 11:4-6 - And the mixt multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat? We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick: But now our soul is dried away: there is nothing at all, beside this manna, before our eyes.

Proverbs 19:3 - The foolishness of man perverteth his way: and his heart fretteth against the LORD.

Is it a sin to complain?
Be careful about whining, griping or complaining. When we have so much to be thankful for and so little to complain about, yet we choose to complain, God considers it a sin. We are demonstrating an attitude of ungratefulness. It was enough of a sin for Israelites that God punished them with poisonous snakes.

Numbers 21:5-6 - And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread. And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.

Philippians 2:14-15 - Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

Promise From God:
Ephesians 4:29 - Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
